Hey, here’s the second part of my story. To see the first part, go to the post called “Short Stories: Dragon Tales”. Enjoy!!

***** ‘“Hello Carmela, nice to see you!”, Mila’s voice drifts toward me through the darkness. I still see red, but this time it’s the red of Mila’s hide and scales, now appearing over the horizon. I immediately panic, expecting to be crushed by Mila’s silver talons. “Yes, Carly, I know.”, says Mila, with a sigh, “But I’ll help you. Meet me at my cave tomorrow, but beware, Thunder has been raging since last night.” I gulp and nod. Thunder has ten times Mila’s temper!’.

I slowly open my eyes as Mila fades into the darkness again. I sit up and turn around, looking for a clock. “AAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!”, I scream as I see Mila by my bedside, but my surprise is quickly muffled as I take in my surroundings. Mila quickly fades into nothingness before I get a good look at her. *****

Oh no, Oh n– HELP! Before me is the firsthand definition of destruction; fences are gone, stones are missing, buildings are dust, and in the middle of the pandemonium is Mila’s (surprisingly intact) cave with a crooked welcome sign on the two-story front door. I knock, but no one answers. Screeeeak!! I slowly push the worn door open. The inside is dark and dusty; just the way I remember it. In the center of the one-room cave I see Mila peering into the crystal ball on her round table. “Hello, Carly. Come over and help me.”, says Mila, not looking up from the ball. I slowly make my way towards the round table at the center of the room, and peer into the crystal ball with Mila. “I see worlds, fairy tales, a cave, a meeting of hunchbacks, us, and a surprised hunchback.”, I state. “My Dragons! I hope that’s not in our plan for the day!”, exclaims Mila. After a while, Mila says, “I see a cave in Hunchville that has Salvador inside. Let’s go and check it out.” To be continued…
